Damiana Chocolate Love Liqueur
Servings Prep Time
3cups

Ingredients

Instructions

First infusion:
  1. Soak the damiana leaves in the vodka (or brandy) for 5 days.
  2. Stain, and reserve the liquid in a bottle.
Second infusion:
  1. Soak the alcohol-drenched leaves in the spring water for 3 days.
  2. Strain, and reserve the liquid in a bottle.
For the liqueur:
  1. Over low heat, gently warm the water extract and dissolve the honey in it.
  2. Remove the pan from heat, and add the alcohol extract- stir well.
  3. Pour into a clean bottle and add a dash of vanilla, and a touch of rosewater for flavor.
  4. Let mixture sit for a month, or longer.
  5. To each cup of damiana liqueur, add 1/2 cup of chocolate syrup, 2-3 drops of almond extract, and a touch more of rosewater.

Notes

The liqueur gets smoother with age, so if you can wait- the longer, the better 🙂
