Reclaim Your Winter Glow

For those of you who are interested and missed Caitlin’s Soirée presentation in November of 2018, here’s a summary of what was discussed.

Winter is wonderful. Holidays, hot chocolate, family gatherings, and the glitter of morning snowfall are some of the many reasons we love this time of year. What’s not so wonderful, however, is the effects winter weather has on our beauty routine. The coziness from central heating cause moisture levels to drop and radiance to drain from our faces. The constant fluctuations in temperature paired with harsh winds and limited sunlight may leave our skin feeling damaged: anything but merry and bright.

We have a limitless selection of cosmetics at our disposal. As we wear them on our skin, we literally have a physical relationship with our makeup: hundreds of ingredients may be exposed to our bodies, not all of which are friendly.

These ingredients range from purely natural, that is, they are extracted from the earth and kept as close to its original condition as possible, to purely synthetic which have been created through a complex series of chemical reactions. As consumers, we have the freedom to choose sustainable, cruelty-free practices, and plant-derived ingredients.

At Kolya Naturals, we choose mineral-based organic makeup. This means earthen rock undergoes a milling process to break it down into a powdered mineral form. Plant extracts and organically-sourced active ingredients are added to these minerals to create beauty products that are as close to nature as possible.
