Purifying Rose Clay Mask

To make this clay mask recipe, it is advisable to first make a “base” (which is good for many masks), and when you wish to make a single mask, take the clay from there.

Mix the base ahead of time, and store in an air tight container.

NOTE: In the Base Clay Mixture recipe below, “part” can be any measurement. For starters, perhaps measure 1part = 1 Tbsp. Later, when you know you like the mask, you can make larger batches, where 1 part = 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup, 1 cup (or any size you wish!).

Servings Prep Time
single mask (but the base clay mixture is dependant on how much you choose to make) 5mins.

Ingredients

Instructions

Preparation:
  1. With Q-tip or fingertip, mix together Dr. Hauschka cream/mask, Dr. Hauschka Bath Essence, “Liquid” and Base Clay Mixture. Keep mixing until the mask is the consistency of yogurt.
  2. If the mask seems too thick, add more “liquid” drop by drop; if too runny, sprinkle in more clay. When the mask is clump free, mix in essential oil drops.
Home Use:
  1. Cleanse face with your favourite cleanser.
  2. Hold a warm cloth over your face, heating it multiple times & compressing the cloth to the skin until your face has a warmed glow.
  3. Apply mask with fingertips or brush. Allow to remain on the face for 5-10 minutes. Spritz hydrosol over the mask to keep it moist; letting it dry completely can dehydrate the skin.
  4. When done, gently remove the mask with an old or dark cloth (since the mask stains) or rinse thoroughly with warm water before using a cloth. Splash face with cool water to freshen the skin. Tone and moisturize as you wish.

Having trained in herbal and cultural medicine, I found the sense of “home” in health food stores. I joined Optimum Health Vitamins in 1997, which later became our family-owned business. I loved working with natural medicines, but wanted to “get my hands dirty” in the herbs and clays and butters. I wanted to flood my senses with the plant world, and wanted to share everything I found with our customers and clients. This is why I founded Kolya Naturals.
