This Summer DIY Outdoor Spray is a combination of soothing aloe vera juice and essential oils that help deter pests while you are enjoying the outdoors this summer.

The Outdoor Defence Essential Oil blend (inquire about this in our Botanical Apothecary) is an effective blend for deterring mosquitos, ticks and other pests – you can add this blend to a topical spray (as noted in this recipe), creams, lotions or oils.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Witch Hazel has anti-inflammatory properties that help to sooth irritated skin, and is a natural preservative that contains 14% alcohol
  • 50-60 drops Outdoor Defence Essential Oil an essential oil blend, available in Kolya's botanical apothecary *
  • 1/2 cup Aloe Vera Juice soothing, cooling and adds hydration to the skin

Instructions

  1. Place the funnel in the bottle.
  2. Add the witch hazel, the Outdoor Defence essential oil blend and 1/2 cup of aloe vera juice.
  3. Close with a spray top, and shake well before use.

The Outdoor Defence Blend from Kolya's Botanical Apothecary is a blend of lemon eucalyptus, spike lavender, cedar atlas, cinnamon leaf and rose geranium. Visit our Botanical Apothecary to pick one up today.

Remember to shake before use, then spray on skin and on top of clothing to help keep you defended outdoors (avoid the face).

For sensitive skin- apply a small amount of the product to test before full use.
